Who We Are

Shandreka Mosley

Communications Coordinator

Shandreka is passionate about stories and the words that make them tick. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she has worn all sorts of writerly hats with relish, from brand journalist to copywriter in both the B2B and B2C spaces. After years of authoring content for the private sector, Shandreka wanted to put her talents to use in the nonprofit realm. As the African Visionary Fund’s Communications Coordinator, Shandreka creates social media and external communications campaigns designed to engage partners, funders, and fans.

Currently, Shandreka also works at Axios as a writer on the news platform’s Smart Brevity Studio, where she works on national advertising campaigns. In 2020, a campaign she worked on from start to finish was nominated for a Webby Award.

She graduated from Agnes Scott College with a BA in English Literature-Creative Writing and currently lives between Atlanta, Georgia, and Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.

When Shandreka is not writing for others, she can be found writing genre fiction for herself, traveling abroad, or rockhounding for semi-precious stones.
