Dr. Suzy Aku Puplampu has served as the CEO of OctaneDC, a firm providing fund management services to individuals, institutions, pension funds, and collective investment schemes for the past three years. Transitioning into an Independent Financial Consultant role in January 2023, she now supports wealth management advisory needs for individuals, families, groups, and institutions. With close to two decades of experience in the finance and investment space, Dr. Puplampu is recognized as a leader making significant contributions to the savings, investment, and wealth creation & management conversation within the Investment industry in Ghana.
Through Boardroom Africa (TBR), Dr. Puplampu served as a Board apprentice with the African Visionary Fund, and has since transitioned to serving as Board Treasurer, Chair of the Finance Committee, and member of the Grantmaking committee. Associated with AVFund, Dr. Puplampu received Board training from the Issroff Family Foundation in June 2022, focusing on Board Structure, Culture, Finance, and CEO-Chair relationships, among other relevant skill sets. In 2023, AVFund nominated her to The Roddenberry Foundation to help shortlist women-led interventions across Africa for grants from their +1globalfund.
Currently, Dr. Puplampu chairs the Board of Pesewa1 Plc., a business service provider for SMEs in Africa listed on the Ghana Alternative Market of the Ghana Stock Exchange. Additionally, she serves as the Board Chair of the Investment Committee of the Cocobod Pensions and Provident Funds schemes, where she has been an Independent Board Trustee for the past 12 years. Similarly, for the past 12 years, she has served as an Independent Board Trustee of Nestle Ghana and CWA Pension and Provident Funds schemes. Recently, she was appointed as co-Chair to the DVLA Pension and Provident Funds Board of Trustees.
With a professional focus on investment banking and fund management, Dr. Puplampu has led many wealth management, finance, and administrative teams to manage funds worth over $80 million. Recently, she has directed her interest toward Family Office services, focusing on family and generational wealth creation and management through the setup of Trusts, Endowment Funds, and Family Offices. Her passion for sharing knowledge through writing and speaking has earned her numerous invitations as a guest speaker at several corporate events and media organizations.
Dr. Puplampu has been a regular speaker on the ShEquity Business Accelerator platform and the ‘All Moms’ Business & Finance Academy. She also served on the grant-making committee of AVF for their third cohort in 2023. For Athena SBG Finance, she joined a pool of speakers to speak on relevant skill set areas for women leaders in business, all aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs in Ghana and Africa. As a Toastmaster at heart, she aims to be an accomplished public speaker and provide business, team, and board leads having built effective leadership skills through experience, practice, and networking.
In September 2023, Dr. Puplampu authored and published her first book titled “Woven – A story of a little girl’s blossom.”
