Jailan Adly is a global development and social impact executive and strategist who believes in the power of collaborative partnerships to tackle and solve our most complex global challenges. Jailan has spent her career forging mutually beneficial partnerships between diverse stakeholders from the private, public, and social sectors to build the capacity of impact-driven initiatives, individuals, and organizations.
Currently, Jailan is a Managing Director at GoodCitizen, an executive search firm that focuses on helping social sector organizations find extraordinary leaders to move the needle forward on complex challenges. Prior to joining GoodCitizen, Jailan served as a turn-around CEO at RefuSHE, an award-winning NGO that supports refugee girls, young women, and children in East Africa. There, she led a leadership transition to shift the organization’s strategic decision-making and CEO position to Kenya, where the organization’s operations are located. Jailan believes that proximate leadership holds the key to long-lasting sustainable impact.
Jailan has a strong background in capacity building and strategy development and has evaluated, assessed, and supported numerous nonprofits, social enterprises, and programs to evaluate the highest opportunities for collaboration, investment, and impact. Through her work with PYXERA Global and Taproot Foundation, she supported various corporate social responsibility programs for Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Novartis, SAP, MetLife, John Deere, and Medtronic in more than 20 countries.
Jailan holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from George Washington University. She spent the early years of her career working to develop sustainable tourism strategies in Egypt, Lebanon, Jamaica, and Morocco.
