With years of expertise in streamlining grant procedures to ensure effective resource distribution, Michelle Wanjala is a seasoned grants management specialist. She has worked as a Document Review Coordinator in PSI’s Grants & Contracts department and as a Program Assistant for the African Academy of Sciences’ Good Financial Grant Practice (GFGP) program. At the African Academy of Sciences, Michelle supported and facilitated the deployment of the GFGP system, ensuring its effective use for both grantors and grantees.
Michelle excels in navigating the complex world of grants administration, with a sharp eye for detail and a strategic approach. She ensures donor requirements are met, highlights the positive impacts of funded initiatives, and oversees streamlined grant cycles from proposal development to fund disbursement. Her professional experience includes collaborations with a wide range of financial partners, including Wellcome Trust, DFID, USAID, the Royal Society, UKAID, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Michelle holds a master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in operations management from the University of Nairobi and a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys watching hockey games.
